what we love to do
Nant Meigan's location makes it a great place to stay in West Wales. There are plenty of activities to keep you, family, and friends entertained while in Aberaeron. The harbour town of Aberaeron has Public Houses and award wining welsh restaurants, a butchers, bakers but no candle stick makers! There is also a mini superstore for all your grocery requirements.
Sit on the harbour wall, have a drink and watch the sunset on Cardigan Bay
Spend a day de-stressing in the back garden, watch the river flow by and perhaps have a Bar-B-Que in the evening.
Stroll around the harbour town of Aberaeron, admire the architecture (follow the town trail plaques), enjoy the pebble beach or wander up the banks of the river Aeron. Perhaps take the children crabbing in the harbour.
Try the local meat from Owain the Butcher or the fresh fish from Will in the 'Fish on the Quay'. Even try the Fish and Chips from the famous Welsh 'New Celtic Restaurant'.
Take breakfast or coffee in 'La Cuccina' the organic patisserie or Jibinc whilst reading the paper, or even pick up fresh bread from the organic store.
Enjoy a 'Honey Ice Cream' or dine at the 'Hive on the Quay'.
Dine at the renowned Harbourmaster or just drink (coffee / wine) whilst taking in the harbour views.
Walk, cycle or drive along the old railway line to visit Llanerchaeron, the local National Trust house.
Play a round of golf at the Penrhos Golf and Country Club.
Visit the coves of Cwmtydu (see the seals), Cei Bach and Llangrannog – 4 - 8 miles south – blow away the cobwebs with a walk, pop into the cave, sunbathe, go surfing and visit the Patio Cafe.
Walk along the coastal path to New Quay – 6 miles - take a boat trip out to sea to Cardigan Bay and try and spot the local pod of Bottle Nosed dolphins. Coffee in the Bosun Locker is very good (Internet access available).
Watch the red kites feeding at Talsarn and visit the Tregaron Red Kite Museum.
Visit the historic town of Aberystwyth, stroll along the Victorian seafront and visit the castle. On a clear day you may see the tallest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. We recommend you eat out at The Tree House.
